Meet Our New 100% Robusta Coffee: Robusta, Naturally
If you're a casual coffee drinker, the words "robusta" and "natural process" might sound vaguely familiar (or maybe even totally foreign). But whether or not you understand the coffee species or processing method, you'll definitely be able to taste what makes our newest brew so special.
Just in time for International Coffee Day, we’re beyond excited to announce the launch of our newest coffee: "Robusta, Naturally!" Not only is this the first time we've ever offered a 100% robusta coffee; it's also the first time we've launched a coffee as both Ground Coffee and Whole Bean. This is a game-changer for all our coffee connoisseurs who want to customize their grind for the perfect cup—whether you’re into espresso, drip, pour over, cold brew, or anything in between.
What Makes Our Robusta Coffee Special?
100% Vietnamese Robusta Coffee
If you've been around for a bit, you might notice that our launches are typically new flavored coffees made with real spices and herbs. But this one's all about the coffee itself! "Robusta, Naturally" is made from 100% Vietnamese robusta coffee beans, offering a smooth, nutty flavor with tasting notes of apple, dark chocolate, dried fruit, and roasted nuts.
If you’re a fan of our Classic blend coffee (which includes both robusta and arabica beans), you’ll notice similar smooth richness, but with the fruity and nutty flavors dialed up a notch. On top of that, robusta beans naturally contain more caffeine than arabica, so you’ll get that extra boost to keep you energized throughout your day.
Natural Process
The other part of the name "Robusta, Naturally" comes from this coffee's natural processing. Unlike the washed or honey processes, where the beans are separated from the cherries early on, in the natural process, the coffee cherries are dried under the sun before removing the beans. This method allows the sugars in the cherries to fully develop, adding sweetness and enhancing the fruit notes in the coffee. Plus, this method is much gentler on the environment, minimizing water usage and allowing the coffee to develop its rich flavors more naturally.
Whole Bean and Ground Coffee Options
For the first time, we’re offering Whole Bean Coffee! This means you can enjoy the flexibility of grinding the beans to the perfect size for whatever brewing method you love most—whether it’s a strong shot of espresso, a smooth pour-over, or a refreshing cold brew. Grinding whole beans at home also means extra freshness in every sip.
If you’re more about convenience, not to worry—Robusta, Naturally is also available in our signature universal grind for those of you who want to enjoy this delicious robusta without needing a grinder.
Beginner's Guide to Robusta Coffee
Two types of coffee beans make up nearly all the coffee produced worldwide: arabica (60-70% of all coffee) and robusta (30-40%). So what exactly makes these beans different from each other?
While arabica tends to be smoother with more acidity, robusta beans have a bold, nutty flavor with earthy, chocolatey notes. They’re also naturally higher in caffeine and tend to be more resilient plants, making them a perfect fit for Vietnam’s coffee-growing regions.
Vietnam is also the largest producer of robusta coffee in the world, so it's only fitting that our first-ever whole bean coffee is a premium-quality, 100% Vietnamese robusta. This blend represents our continued dedication to sharing the vibrant coffee traditions of Vietnam while also uplifting and empowering Vietnamese coffee farmers.
We can’t wait for you to try Robusta, Naturally! Whether you go for ground or whole bean, this coffee is going to transform your daily brew. With its bold flavors, fruity notes, and that extra caffeine kick, it might just become your new favorite.
